Joe Springer

Certified Prosthetist

Joe Springer, Certified Prosthetist, President of both Springer Prosthetic & Orthotic Services, Inc. and Greater Lansing Orthotic Clinic of Lansing, Michigan. He has been involved in the prosthetic profession in both clinical and technical aspects since 1973. Completed the Prosthetic Certificate Program at New York University Post-Medical School in 1977. VA-Certified through the Veterans Administration in 1977 and Board Certified in the discipline of Prosthetics through the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics, Inc. in 1978. Joe has been serving the mid-Michigan medical community and its patients since 1979. He started his own practice in Lansing in 1990 and subsequently opened an additional office in Mt. Pleasant. His expertise includes: specialized custom pediatric prosthetics, prosthesis for active teens and young adults; and the elderly and geriatric population. He served on the Michigan Orthotics and Prosthetics Association Board of Directors from 1996 to 2001. He also served on the “Bikes for Tykes” committee for the Children’s Miracle Network for four years.

Robert Bennett

Board Eligible Prosthetist

Robbie was born and raised in Durban, South Africa.  He moved to the United States in 2011 to study and play soccer at Gannon University.  While at GU, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science.  In 2017, Robbie received a Master’s of Science in Orthotic & Prosthetics degree from Eastern Michigan University.  That same year, Robbie began working at Springer Prosthetic & Orthotic Services as prosthetic resident.  In his free time, Robbie enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, being outside and participating in several recreational sports leagues in Lansing.

Sean Taylor

Certified Prosthetist

Sean joined SPOS in 2015, having been in the prosthetic field for 10 years prior. He works with the full spectrum of prosthetic patients including pediatric through geriatric populations, and specializes in micro-processor components. He attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha for his undergrad degree and earned his prosthetic certificate from Century College. In his free time Sean enjoys time with his wife and two Basset hounds.

Mike Huhn

Certified Orthotist

Mike graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s degree in Movement Science in 2009. In 2011, Mike received his Masters of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics from Eastern Michigan University. Mike joined Springer Prosthetics and The Greater Lansing Orthotic Clinic in 2012 after completing his residency in Orthotics. He earned his Orthotic certification through the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics Inc, in 2013.

Scott Vercruysse

Certified Orthotist

Scott joined the Springer Prosthetics and GLOC team in 2015 as a Certified Orthotist with more than 30 years of experience. Scott’s focus is on providing creative solutions for patients with lower extremity Orthotic needs. He enjoys bringing his expertise in orthotics to patients and rehab professionals in both in-patient and out-patient clinical settings. In Scott’s free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and spending time in the out-of-doors, boating, hunting and a variety of other outdoor activities.

Christine Huebner

Certified Prosthetist / Orthotist

Chrissy is a certified prosthetist and is completing her orthotic residency. In 2014, she received her Master’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics from Eastern Michigan University. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health Science in 2011. In her free time, Chrissy enjoys dance and spending time with her friends and dog.

Kevin Brown

Certified Pedorthist

Kevin is an allied health professional servicing Springer Prosthetics and Greater Lansing Orthotic Clinic patients, since 1997. Any appointments requiring diabetic shoes/custom footwear will be scheduled with Kevin, through GLOC. Kevin has his own business in Alma, Michigan called The Cobbler Shop.

Len Poma

Certified Prosthetics Technician

Len has been involved in healthcare since 1978. In 1990 he joined Springer Prosthetic and Orthotic Services as a prosthetic technician. He became a Registered Technician in prosthetics through the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics, Inc. in 1993. Len is SPOS’ Lab Supervisor and Safety Manager and is also responsible for quality control.

Matt Smith

Orthotic Technician

Matt has spent the last 20+ years working as the lead fabricator for a custom durable medical equipment firm.  He puts the same dedication into being an orthotic technician for Springer Prosthetic & Orthotic Services which he joined in 2015.  Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time outdoors; hunting, fishing and camping with his family.

Chase Chittick

Certified Prosthetic / Orthotic Technician

Chase holds an Associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences with a focus in orthotic and prosthetic technology.  He received his ABC Certification as an technician for both prosthetics and orthotics in 2012.  Chase joined SPOS in 2018.  In his free time, he enjoys riding and working on his motorcycles and dirt bikes and spending time outdoors.

Michael Springer

Administrator / Business Manager

Mike’s administrative duties include HR, advertising and marketing/social media and procurement specialist. He graduated from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids in 2009 with a B.A. in Business Administration/Sports Management, and a minor in Marketing. Mike joined SPOS full-time in August of 2010, as an orthotic technician, having worked part-time with Springer Prosthetic and Orthotic Services from 2001-2010. In his free time Mike enjoys kayaking and watersports, fishing, the pleasures of home ownership and family activities.

Barbara Millisor

Office Manager

Barbara Millisor joined Springer Prosthetics as Office Manager in 2014, bringing with her 10 years of health care and medical billing and management experience, and compassion for excellent customer service. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Michigan and certifications in medical billing. Born and raised in Michigan, Barb is an active member at First Baptist Church and takes pride in staying involved with community programs including Relay For Life and Harvest Gathering that provides services to the local communities.

Marlene Smith

Medical Biller

Marlene completed training for Medical Billing and Coding from Ross Medical Education Center in 2008. She then joined Springer Prosthetic and Orthotic Services in 2009. In 2011, Marlene received her Certified Professional Coder certification from the American Association of Professional Coders. After work, Marlene enjoys reading and doing cross stitch projects. She has also been teaching the Preschool Sunday School class at Heritage Baptist Church in DeWitt since 1996.

Laura Clemmons

Medical Biller

Laura completed training for medical billing and coding from Career Quest Learning Center in 2012. She has been in the medical billing field since 2003. Laura joined SPOS in the fall of 2017. In her free time, Laura enjoys attending basketball games and spending time with family. She is also a member of the Order of Eastern Stars, and enjoys helping out community families in need.
